Victorian Council is intentionally small, selective, and highly social. As the first new masonic body in Doylestown Pennsylvania for over 100 years, Victorian is a close-knit, invitation-only fellowship dedicated to fraternity and a restoration of the vintage gentleman’s club concept – tavern venues, wit, and high style. We meet formally at colonial pubs on a quarterly basis, gather monthly for informal socials, and communicate regularly as a group.
Although many councils are based on the study and performance of craft ritual, Victorian was forged as a classic fellowship with masonic DNA at its root. Therefore, we are not focused on masonic titles, ritual, or regalia; our members are dedicated to the fraternal culture of the first speculative masons – perennial fellowship, clubbable sociability, and gentlemanly polish.
While we appreciate esoteric programs and discussions, we leave those to other councils with more experience and interest in that arena.

Victorian gathers formally for meetings at ever-changing locations, typically colonial-style taverns throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania, four times per year. However, most activity takes place outside formal meetings through smaller, informal gatherings focused on high-end lifestyle interests, such as unique single malts, custom tailoring, and designer watches; sporting events, including fly fishing and shooting; and occasional professional topics.
Monthly socials and regular group communication are central to the Council because Victorian was designed to function as an active fraternity rather than a meeting-based organization. And, like any close-knit fraternity, Victorian maintains certain general standards and signature looks across its membership, reflected in our style guides.

The standard Victorian logo incorporates several nods to British Freemasonry. The re-styled AMD crown represents the Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom. The wooden dragons represent the last remaining Viking stronghold in England – the city of York, where King Athelstan commissioned the charter which the Old Charges & Regis Poems of Freemasonry originated from. The North Star in an Art Nouveau style is a nod to J. R. R. Tolkien, while the interior of the crest is traditionally presented in British Racing Green, the official color of the United Kingdom in international motorsports used on British cars in racing since 1903.
