The first new masonic body in Doylestown Pennsylvania for over 100 years, Victorian Council is a close-knit, invitation-only fellowship in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, dedicated to fraternity and a restoration of the vintage gentleman’s club concept – tavern venues, wit, and high style. We meet formally at colonial pubs on a quarterly basis, gather monthly for informal socials, and communicate often as a group. Although many councils are based on the study and performance of craft ritual, Victorian Council was forged as a classic fellowship with masonic DNA at its root. Therefore, we are not focused on ritual, title, or regalia; our members are dedicated to the fraternal culture of the first speculative masons – perennial fellowship, clubbable sociability, and gentlemanly polish.
Key Notes:
- Style-first
- Fellowship-forward
- Invitation Only
The VC gathers formally for meetings at ever changing locations, typically colonial style taverns in Southeastern PA, four times per year. In between, we also host smaller informal meetups focused on high-lifestyle recommendations (e.g. unique single malts, custom tailoring, designer watches), sportsman events (golf, pheasant hunting), and occasionally professional topics (senior management training). We also host the some open events which are posted on the AMD Facebook page. While we appreciate esoteric programs, we leave those to other councils with more experience and interest in that arena.

The standard VC logo incorporates several nods to British Freemasonry. The re-styled AMD crown represents the Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom. The wooden dragons represent the last remaining Viking stronghold in England – the city of York, where King Athelstan commissioned the charter which the Old Charges & Regis Poems of Freemasonry originated from. The North Star in an Art Nouveau style is a nod to J. R. R. Tolkien, while the interior of the crest is presented in British Racing Green, the official color of the United Kingdom in international motorsports used on British cars in racing since 1903.
